Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  • In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly between additions.
  • Stir in the kefir and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Cooling and Serving

  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
  • Allow to cool completely before decorating.

Notes

For a gluten-free version, replace all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free baking blend.
