Equipment

  • 1 Stand mixer or hand mixer
  • 1 Baking Sheets
  • 1 Parchment paper
  • 1 Cooling Rack
  • 1 Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • 1 Digital kitchen scale (for precise measurements)

Ingredients

  • 10 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 12 ounces Semisweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, cream together 10 tablespoons of softened butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 3/4 cup of powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in 2 eggs one at a time, then stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in the 12-ounce package of semisweet chocolate chips.
  • Chill the cookie dough for at least 1 hour before baking.
  • Preheat your oven to 330°F (165°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Scoop the chilled dough into 18 large or 36 small balls, placing them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake the cookies for 12-14 minutes for large cookies or 10-12 minutes for medium cookies. They should be golden brown on the edges and slightly soft in the center.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Enjoy your homemade Disney-inspired treats!

Notes

  • Chill the Dough: Chilling the dough for at least 1 hour before baking helps the cookies maintain their shape and achieve the ideal texture.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: Make sure the butter and eggs are at room temperature for better mixing and consistency.
  • Don’t Overmix: Overmixing the dough can make the cookies tough. Mix only until the ingredients are just combined.
  • Baking Time: Adjust the baking time based on the size of the cookies. Larger cookies will need a bit longer (12-14 minutes), while medium-sized cookies take around 10-12 minutes.
  • Storage: Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, you can freeze the dough or baked cookies.
  • Temperature Control: Ensure your oven is preheated to the correct temperature (330°F) for perfect cookies with a crispy edge and soft center.
  • Avoid Common Mistakes: Pay attention to accurate measurements, proper chilling time, and baking temperature to avoid overbaking or uneven cookies.
